International Museum Day | Glassware at the Royal Table
This visit offers a reading of the royal table through its table services, exploring their role in the material culture of the Portuguese court between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Drawing on objects associated with everyday life, it will be possible to understand how glassware participated in the construction of practices of representation, etiquette and social distinction.
Throughout the visit, different types of pieces will be examined, along with their ceremonial and everyday functions, as well as the circuits of acquisition and circulation of these objects in the European context.
