International Museum Day | 70 Years of Fundação LIGA: Faces of a Journey – Other Perspectives
The National Palace of Ajuda and Fundação LIGA present “Faces of a Journey: Other Perspectives”, an initiative that celebrates memory, legacy and institutional identity through art.
As part of this event, an exhibition of portraits will be inaugurated, dedicated to the founders, directors and presidents of Fundação LIGA — figures who have been central to the construction and development of its journey. More than a tribute, this exhibition proposes a diverse look at these individuals, exploring human, symbolic and emotional dimensions that go beyond their formal representation. Each portrait invites the public to discover stories, values and contributions that have marked different moments in the life of the institution.
Alongside this, a round table will be held with guests from the fields of painting, ceramics and dance, promoting a space for interdisciplinary dialogue and reflection. Drawing on their artistic practices, the participants will share perspectives on portraiture as a form of expression, the construction of identity and the multiple ways of representing human and institutional journeys.
“Faces of a Journey: Other Perspectives” thus presents itself as an encounter between past and present, between memory and creation, reaffirming the role of art as a privileged means of interpretation, appreciation and continuity.
Everyone is invited to take part in this moment of celebration and artistic reflection.
